Brewers share crucial Jackson Chourio, Andrew Vaughn injury updates

The Milwaukee Brewers are 14-13, which is good enough for last place in the competitive NL Central. After last year’s 97-win division title, Milwaukee is off to a sluggish start in 2026. But the Brewers are starting the rehab process for Jackson Chourio and Andrew Vaughn, who have missed almost the entire season with injuries.

“Jackson Chourio and Andrew Vaughn will each begin a rehab assignment tomorrow, the Brewers say,” MLB.com’s Adam McCalvy reported.

Chourio has not played a game for the Brewers yet this season. He was placed on the 10-day injured list with a left-hand fracture on Opening Day. He hit 21 homers in each of his first two seasons, manning multiple outfield positions well in Milwaukee before turning 22. In his age-22 season, the Brewers are expecting a big breakthrough, which has to start soon.

Vaughn was a revelation for the Brewers in 2025 after coming over from the Chicago White Sox. He played on Opening Day this year and was immediately placed on the injured list, also with a left-hand injury. In that game, he had one hit and knocked in a run.

The Brewers are also missing Christian Yelich, so their offense is barren early in the season. Their pitching has kept them afloat, namely with great starts from Jacob Misiorowski and Kyle Hamilton. The big question coming into the year was whether they could replace Freddy Peralta on the bump. They’ve done that, but have not hit to make it count enough.

The Brewers ended a four-game winning streak on Sunday with a win against the Pittsburgh Pirates. They had Monday off, and now got good injury news that should lift spirits in the locker room. All of that leads into a three-game home series against the Arizona Diamondbacks, which begins Tuesday night. Chad Patrick will get the ball for the Crew.
