Brewers Share Pitching Moves for Pirates Series

The Milwaukee Brewers have set their pitching plans for their upcoming three-game series against the Pittsburgh Pirates, with the National League Central title within reach.

Adam McCalvy reported on X that Milwaukee will send Jacob Misiorowski to the mound Tuesday, followed by Logan Henderson on Wednesday and Dustin May in Thursday’s series finale.

The Brewers enter the series with a 93-57 record and a magic number of two to clinch the division. A win Tuesday combined with a Chicago Cubs loss would give Milwaukee the NL Central crown.

Misiorowski will get the first opportunity to finish the job. The right-hander has been one of the Brewers’ best starters this season, going 14-5 with a 1.95 ERA and 236 strikeouts over 161.1 innings.

He is also coming off a strong outing against the Cubs on Sept. 8, when he struck out nine batters. Opponents are hitting just .156 against Misiorowski this season.

Henderson will take the ball Wednesday after another strong start in his previous outing. He threw five scoreless innings with six strikeouts against Chicago on Sept. 9 to improve to 10-3 on the season.

The rookie right-hander owns a 2.34 ERA with 99 strikeouts and just 15 walks across 88.1 innings.

May is scheduled to finish the series Thursday. The veteran has provided Milwaukee with another experienced arm as the Brewers prepare for the postseason, with the team carefully managing his workload after his previous arm injuries.

The Pirates enter the series at 75-75 and will be looking to play spoiler at PNC Park. Pittsburgh is 18 games behind Milwaukee in the division and has little left to play for beyond finishing the season strong.

For Milwaukee, the focus is simple. The Brewers need two more wins to officially secure the division, and they have their rotation lined up to make that happen.

A championship could come as early as Tuesday night in Pittsburgh.
