The Milwaukee Brewers are once again set to be well represented in the World Baseball Classic. This time around, Freddy Peralta has chosen to pitch for Team Dominican Republic after declining to participate in 2023. Additionally, Brice Turang will be playing for Team USA.

Additional Brewers players on the 40-man roster with confirmed World Baseball Classic spots include Tyler Black for Team Canada and Carlos Rodriguez for Team Nicaragua. More recently, another notable commitment was announced as Jackson Chourio will play for Team Venezuela.

This off-season, Chourio has been keeping his skills sharp by once again playing in his home country in the Venezuelan Winter League. While he’s made just eight appearances, he has collected 12 hits, including one home run, a pair of doubles, and stolen one base.

Now, according to Lider en Deportes, a sports newspaper in Venezuela, Chourio is reportedly on Venezuela’s World Baseball Classic roster.

This comes as no surprise to Brewers fans, as keeping Chourio off the baseball diamond is nearly impossible. What will be interesting to monitor is if his teammate William Contreras joins the team or not.

Lider en Deportes also indicated that big leaguers Wilyer Abreu, Maikel Garcia, and Andres Gimenez are on the roster as well.
