The Milwaukee Brewers’ 2025 season ended in disappointment after being swept by the Los Angeles Dodgers in the NLCS. However, much of the core remains intact heading into 2026, including catcher William Contreras.

The 27-year-old backstop just completed his third season in Milwaukee after arriving ahead of the 2023 campaign. While Contreras had a down year by his standards, he still provided value, posting a .260 batting average, .355 on-base percentage, .754 OPS, 17 home runs, and 66 RBIs across 150 games.

It is worth noting that he played the majority of the season with a fractured left middle finger, an injury sustained in May that ultimately will require surgery this offseason.

As Contreras gears up for his seventh season in MLB, the Brewers’ catcher took time to share a personal decision regarding his physical appearance.

In a joint post with the official Brewers team account on Instagram, Contreras revealed a new tattoo commemorating a home run he hit against the NL Central rival Chicago Cubs in the NLDS.

“This goes CRAZY,” the caption read. The tattoo features Contreras celebrating the long ball, capturing a pivotal moment from Game 2 of the NLDS when his homer gave Milwaukee a 4–3 lead they never relinquished. That win helped the Brewers take a 2–0 lead in the series.

Contreras has plenty to be proud of in his professional career. Individually, he has earned two All-Star selections and two Silver Slugger Awards. He is also a World Series champion, having won it all in 2021 with the Atlanta Braves. Now, he is hoping to bring that championship success to Milwaukee, a franchise still chasing its first title.

It figures to be a pivotal offseason for the Brewers. On Tuesday, longtime ace Brandon Woodruff accepted the qualifying offer to return for another season. The team is unlikely to hand out major contracts in the near future, so it remains unclear whether a Contreras extension is on the table. He is under team control for the next two years.

With the core intact and momentum building, Milwaukee enters the offseason with hopes of remaining competitive in 2026.
