Brice Turang stayed behind after the Milwaukee Brewers’ workout Saturday, putting in extra work with hitting coach Daniel Vogelbach ahead of the National League Championship Series against the Los Angeles Dodgers.

According to Curt Hogg of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, Turang was the last player at the facility after the team finished its workout. While manager Pat Murphy flipped balls to his sons in the batting cage, Turang continued working alongside Vogelbach.

The session came as Turang looks to find his rhythm at the plate after a difficult start to the postseason. Milwaukee advanced to the NLCS after defeating the San Diego Padres in four games, setting up another meeting with Los Angeles for a place in the World Series.

Turang finished the regular season with a .268 batting average, a .366 on-base percentage, 21 home runs and 100 RBIs across 151 games. He also stole 19 bases and recorded an .816 OPS, establishing himself as an important part of Milwaukee’s lineup.

His postseason production has been more difficult to maintain. Turang went into the NLDS looking to build on his regular-season success, and his struggles at the plate became a talking point as Milwaukee worked through its series against San Diego.

The Brewers will need contributions throughout their lineup against the Dodgers, who advanced after defeating the Atlanta Braves in the NLDS. Los Angeles finished the regular season 100-62, while Milwaukee posted a franchise-record 103 wins and secured the National League’s top seed.

The matchup is a rematch of last year’s NLCS, which the Dodgers won. Milwaukee will open the series at American Family Field on Sunday, giving Turang and the rest of the lineup an immediate opportunity to respond against a familiar postseason opponent.

Turang’s extra session does not guarantee a change in results, but it shows he is continuing to work ahead of the series. His ability to reach base and contribute offensively could be important as the Brewers try to get past Los Angeles and reach the World Series.
