Buster Olney: 'Aaron Judge would absolutely fit perfectly for what the Mets need'

It's been less than 24 hours since Aaron Judge set the new American League single season home run record with his 62nd bomb on Tuesday night. Judge and the rest of his New York Yankees teammates will open up their postseason in the ALDS next week.

However, some people are still talking about where the probable 2022 AL MVP will be taking his talents in 2023.

This isn't the first time that the Mets have been connected to Judge. ESPN's Stephen A. Smith said in September that he was "very concerned" that the Yankees crosstown rivals would sign the four-time All-Star.

Judge famously rejected a seven-year, $213.5 million contract extension offer from his employer before the 2022 regular season and "bet on himself." The 30-year-old has responded with a year for the ages, not only hitting a league-leading 62 home runs and all but securing the AL MVP honor but putting himself in the running for the Triple Crown as well, with an MLB-best 131 RBIs and .311 batting average (which ranks second in the AL entering Wednesday).
