It'd be an understatement to say Boston Red Sox first baseman Willson Contreras lost his composure this Tuesday night against the Washington Nationals.
After right-hander Cade Cavalli struck out Contreras in the bottom of the fourth inning, the cameras showed Cavalli apparently saying "sit down boy." That alleged remark triggered Contreras, who charged at Cavalli and sparked a bench-clearing brawl.
Contreras was so angry that he literally chucked his helmet in Cavalli's general direction. Thankfully, no injuries occurred during this on-field scuffle.
Although it's not really a huge surprise, Contreras was ejected from the game. Red Sox interim manager Chad Tracy, Red Sox outfielder Nate Eaton and Washington Nationals pitcher Miles Mikolas were also sent to the clubhouse early.
Cavalli, however, was allowed to remain in the game for the Nationals.

Judging by the reactions online, MLB fans wanted Cavalli thrown out of tonight's game for his "sit down boy" remark.
"Cavalli started all of that," one fan declared. "It's a joke he's not tossed. Classless bum."
"Thats too far but for Cavalli to yell “sit down boy” to Willson after striking him out is pretty classless," a second fan wrote. "Take your K and move along without making it personal."
"Cavalli not being ejected is just wrong," a third fan said. "Someone needs to be fired."
"So Cavalli can intentionally provoke an emotionally volatile Contreras who already got tossed last night for awful reasons and suffer ZERO consequences?" another fan commented.
It wouldn't shock us if the MLB suspends or fines Cavalli in the coming days. For now though, he's in the clear.
As for Contreras, there's a very good chance a suspension is coming his way.
