The 2026 MLB season has officially moved beyond the halfway point.
As expected, teams such as the Dodgers and Yankees have established themselves as World Series contenders. Other teams with postseason aspirations, such as the Mets, Royals and Red Sox, have had a season to forget. Let's look at where each team stands in the midpoint power rankings.
1. Los Angeles Dodgers (54-30)
As expected, the Dodgers remain the team to beat as they look for a third consecutive World Series title, despite minimal contributions from outfielder Kyle Tucker and closer Edwin Diaz. There are concerns, particularly in the back of the rotation, but the Dodgers have the prospects and financial capital to fill any possible hole.
2. Milwaukee Brewers (50-31)
The Brewers keep finding ways to win, and this season is no different. Second baseman Brice Turang and pitchers Jacob Misiorowski and Kyle Harrison are emerging as the next set of stars the Brewers can build around.
3. Atlanta Braves (49-33)
The Braves lineup continued to struggle last week, posting a .508 OPS between June 21 and June 27. Ha-Seong Kim has been a total non-factor as he has posted a .068/.172/.068 batting line thus far. The Braves need to get more production from their lineup soon as the Phillies are rapidly gaining in the standings.
4. New York Yankees (48-35)
New York's offense completely disappeared as well from June 21 through June 27 as they posted a .575 OPS. The Yankees have been able to mitigate some of those concerns due to a stellar rotation, but they need to address catcher and third base at the trade deadline.
5. Chicago Cubs (46-38)
Shortstop Dansby Swanson had the series of his career against the Mets, driving in 15 runs, including 11 RBI during a doubleheader. However, that series did not jumpstart his bat as he was hitless in the following games. The rotation may be a bigger concern as Javier Assad currently has the lowest ERA in a battered group.
6. Tampa Bay Rays (48-33)
The Rays had the hottest offense of the past week, posting an .854 OPS. Third baseman Junior Caminero was a big reason why, as he belted seven home runs to power the Rays lineup.
7. Miami Marlins (44-40)
The Marlins have been white-hot in June, posting a 17-6 record to pull themselves into the thick of the postseason chase. Financial concerns may limit what the Marlins can do at the trade deadline, but if this impressive run can carry on into July, they will be a fascinating team to watch.
8. Chicago White Sox (43-39)
There may not be a better story in baseball than the resurgent White Sox. Only two years removed from losing a record 121 games, they continue to lead the AL Central. The White Sox should also be interesting to watch as the trade deadline approaches.
9. Pittsburgh Pirates (42-42)
There may not be a move that worked out as well as the Pirates acquiring second baseman Brandon Lowe as part of a three-team trade this offseason. The Pirates lineup has been one of the best in the majors, with Lowe and outfielders Bryan Reynolds and Oneil Cruz leading the way.
10. Philadelphia Phillies (47-37)
Should Don Mattingly be the NL Manager of the Year? He has gone 38-18 since taking over the Phillies, bringing them back from the dead and battling the Braves for the NL East crown.
And the rest ...
11. Washington Nationals (43-42)
12. Seattle Mariners (42-43)
13. St. Louis Cardinals (43-38)
14. Boston Red Sox (36-46)
