The St. Louis Cardinals are in the middle of a stretch where they are playing 13 games in 13 days. With this, manager Oli Marmol has made the decision to return to six-man rotation.
The sixth man joining the rotation will be Cardinals' No. 10 overall prospect, Michael McGreevy. While a corresponding move has yet to be announced, Marmol confirmed that McGreevy will start Sunday's game against the Dodgers.
Michael McGreevy will indeed take a spot start Sunday in the series finale against LAD. Will keep the rotation on a six-day schedule during this stretch of 13 straight games. Cardinals will reevaluate what they do with McGreevy (whether he takes another one) after tomorrow.

McGreevy made his major league debut last season and has been nothing short of exceptional is his brief time in the majors. In 28 2/3 innings pitched, McGreevy has a 1.57 ERA and 0.70 WHIP. The 24-year-old made an appearance in St. Louis earlier this season, when he threw 5 2/3 shutout innings and only allowed one hit against in a win over the Mets on May 4.
A big reason for McGreevy being called up right now is to give the rest of the Cardinals starters, many of whom have been laboring as of late, an extra day of rest. This may not just be a one-and-done appearance like last time, though, as Marmol said McGreevy will have a chance to remain on the big league club beyond Sunday's start.
It's clear the Cardinals had the move planned put for a while, as McGreevy was pulled from his start in Memphis on Tuesday after 4 1/3 shutout innings, only throwing 75 pitches.
First pitch for Sunday's game at Busch Stadium is set for 1:15 p.m CST. McGreevy will be matched up with future MLB Hall of Famer Clayton Kershaw.
