Of all the surprise moves to happen this MLB offseason -- and there have been some pretty crazy ones -- Carlos Correa's move from the Houston Astros to the Minnesota Twins was certainly one of the most unanticipated.
Correa signed a three-year, $105 million deal with the Minnesota Twins, shocking the baseball world by leaving a Houston ball club to which he served as a franchise face.
Then, Correa dropped a bombshell on Wednesday in his introductory presser with the Minnesota media: The Astros never made him any offers once the owner-imposed lockout was over.

It is a stunning revelation, to say the least, especially given the Astros released a statement saying they are "disappointed" Correa left to play elsewhere.

Rumors swirled ahead of the signing with Minnesota that Correa could stay with the Astros on a short-term deal. However, following reports in late 2021 that Houston made Correa a low-ball extension offer before he hit free agency, it sounds more likely Correa was more interested in a long-term contract and the Astros didn't want to pay for that.
Whatever the reason, Correa so far seems happy with his decision to play in the Twin Cities. He said as much in his introductory media availability, even giving a shoutout to the local cuisine.
