Chicago White Sox Game 2 ALDS Key Takeaways

Game 2 of the ALDS was much more stressful for Chicago White Sox fans, but they were able to get it done at the end of the day. Chicago would win this one 4-3 as they now enter the driver’s seat of this series.

This was a comeback win, as the White Sox went down by two in the first inning, but three runs in the sixth were able to make up for it.

The Chicago White Sox Offense Is For Real

There’s plenty of power on the Chicago White Sox, but they show that their offense has not been a fluke by putting together four runs without a home run. The biggest knock of the game came from the rookie Braden Montgomery.

Chase Meidroth has been extremely clutch this postseason, as he would knock in a run as well, which would make all the difference.

Grant Taylor Gives Fans a Reason to Worry

Now, I’m not trying to take away anything from Grant Taylor overall, who had a fantastic performance in Game 1 of the ALDS, but it has to be noted that getting those four outs was a pretty big struggle.

In terms of the stats, Taylor went 1.1 innings, allowing no earned runs, but from when he entered the game with a man on first and two outs, he gave up a triple to Jo Adell. That would score a run, and Adell was inches away from tying this game as well.

Taylor was able to get it done, but it certainly didn’t come easy. Of those four outs, it felt like almost all of them were hit hard into the wall.

Taylor pounded the strike zone with seven strikes out of his seven pitches, but he needs to work a little bit more carefully in the next one.

White Sox fans shouldn’t panic by any means, but it’s certainly a bit worrisome when you see a pitcher who’s previously been lights out have a very tough time closing the game.
