Hollywood superstar Brad Pitt revealed his love for the Kansas City Chiefs during the most recent episode of "New Heights." The actor sat with Jason Kelce and Travis Kelce to discuss a variety of topics, including his brand-new movie about Formula 1, his career and even his love for sports.
Pitt, who impersonated Billy Beane in "Moneyball," a story inspired by how the Oakland Athletics' front office identified low-cost promising talent, is now the main character in the movie about the biggest racing competition in the world.
While he enjoys the success the movie has experienced in its first week ($140 million globally), Pitt had a fun conversation with the Kelce brothers. The 61-year-old actor from Missouri didn't hide his love for the Kansas City Chiefs.
A clip shared by the podcast's official Instagram page shows the veteran praising athletes for inspiring other people working in different areas.
"We live vicariously through you guys," Pitt said. "I love the Eagles-Chiefs rivalry. You know I'm a Chiefs [fan]. I'm a Missouri boy."
Moreover, he told Travis Kelce to protect his hands until the start of the season.
"I let you down in New Orleans, man. I just want you wearing oven mittens 'til the season starts. Protect those babies."
The Chiefs reacted to Pitt's praise with a five-word comment to confirm he's one of their top fans out there.
Pitt was born in Oklahoma but raised in Springfield, where his love for the Chiefs began. He recalled the bad moments the Chiefs had before the start of their dynasty, although he mixed up Dante Hall and Bears legend Devin Hester while at it.
“Football we were a little weaker, and it wasn’t ‘til the Devin Hester years where things got exciting for a moment,” Pitt said, via Pete Grathoff.
“You just feel this sense of pride (now), instead of the sense of, like, all life’s out, always against us. So it’s kind of extraordinary the way we live through our teams, through you guys, and what it means to us.”
After a painful 40-22 Super Bowl LIX loss to the Philadelphia Eagles, the Chiefs are eager to bounce back and return to the top of the league.
