
The Milwaukee Brewers have taken the NL Central crown in four of the last five years, with their 2025 campaign standing out as their most impressive. Even with a strong regular season and solid early postseason run, their year ended with a 4-0 sweep by the Los Angeles Dodgers in the NLCS. Although the finish was disappointing, the Brewers still recognized the progress they made over the course of the season.

After their strong 2025 season, the Milwaukee Brewers could have easily taken a step back and struggled in the competitive NL Central, but they are using last year as fuel. Christian Yelich knows that plenty of baseball fans were hoping the team would falter in 2025, and that could serve as motivation for the Brewers this season, according to Dominic Cotroneo on X (formerly Twitter).
“I think a lot of people have been really waiting for the day that we suck and they can finally say, ‘I told you so,’ and we’ll hopefully be able to fend that off again another year and go from there. You know, the collective group effort and mentality and buying-in for each other. I think is really what helps exceed expectations,” said Yelich.
One challenge for the Brewers this season is the lack of experience among their starting pitchers. Jacob Misiorowski, Chad Patrick, and Brandon Sproat are slated to take the mound in the first three games of the regular season, as several veterans will begin the year on the injured list. While this might be a reason for skepticism, it is difficult to completely count out Milwaukee given the strong run they had last year.
