The 'MLB Rookies of the Year since 2000' quiz

In a World Baseball Classic semifinal clash between Team USA and the Dominican Republic that was expected to be settled by two titanic lineups, it was pitching (and a controversial call) that defined the 2-1 win for the U.S.

Paul Skenes allowed a solo homer to Tampa Bay’s Junior Caminero in 4 1/3 innings, while a combination of Tyler Rogers, Griffin Jax, David Bednar, Garrett Whitlock and Mason Miller kept the Dominicans off the board the rest of the way. What little offense there was in the game for the United States came in the form of fourth-inning solo home runs  from Boston’s Roman Anthony and 2024 American League Rookie of the Year Gunnar Henderson

With the win, the United States awaits the winner of Italy and Venezuela to play for their second-ever World Baseball Classic title and avenge their loss to Japan in the 2023 final.

Which brings us to today’s quiz. Despite a down season with Baltimore in 2025, Henderson is still considered one of the torch-bearers for the next generation of Major League Baseball. With that being said, can you name the American and National League Rookies of the Year since 2000?

 Good luck!
