The Los Angeles Dodgers and San Francisco Giants faced off on ESPN's Sunday Night Baseball, which featured in-game interviews of players from both teams.
Dodgers ace Clayton Kershaw was on the microphone with the broadcast booth during the fifth inning. During his appearance, he made a major personal announcement that, fittingly, happened on Father's Day.
In a post shared on X by Dodgers Nation, Kershaw revealed on ESPN's broadcast that he and his wife, Ellen Kershaw, are expecting their fifth child.

"We had a gender reveal today," Kershaw said. "My wife's got number five coming. We got another girl coming. We got book-end girls to go with our three boys. So, today was a very special Father's Day for us. It always is."
The major personal news Kershaw revealed came on Father's Day, a very fitting day to reveal he's going to be the father of another child. The 37-year-old has played in the Major Leagues for 18 seasons, and throughout his entire MLB career, since becoming a father, Father's Day holds a special place in his heart.
"Anytime you can have your kids on the field..." Kershaw said. "I've gotten to bring my older two sons are out a little bit more, Charlie and Cooper, so it's been, it's just been such a blessing. The Dodgers letting families be around, letting the boys be around, has been really fun for me and our boys. It's been awesome."
The Dodgers allowed players to bring their children onto the field for Father's Day, and that, combined with Kershaw's fifth child having a gender reveal, meant this year's Father's Day was extra special.
Kershaw is a Dodgers legend and one of the best pitchers in team history. Throughout his illustrious 18-year career, Kershaw has built up a family and made his mark on the franchise.
Through six starts for the Dodgers in his 18th season, Kershaw has a 3.25 ERA and 20 strikeouts. While he isn't pitching as much as he used to, his presence has helped the Dodgers stay atop the National League West.
This announcement from Kershaw came at the perfect time, falling on Father's Day, and sharing it on ESPN's live broadcast. Kershaw announced that he and his wife are expecting a fifth child, and that it'll be their second daughter.
