Los Angeles Dodgers legend Clayton Kershaw may be starting a new chapter after retirement.
A fresh report suggests his future could be in broadcasting. Kershaw officially retired in early November 2025 after helping the Dodgers win another World Series. His playing career ended with one of the strongest resumes in baseball history.
According to Andrew Marchand of The Athletic, Kershaw is a major target for NBC and Peacock. NBC is launching a new MLB package this season. It will feature Sunday Night Baseball and early playoff rounds. Sources say Kershaw would likely appear at select events rather than full-time.
"Clayton Kershaw is a top studio target for NBC/Peacock’s forthcoming Major League Baseball package, sources briefed on the talks told The Athletic." Marchand wrote in his column.
The idea of Kershaw in the studio or booth has drawn interest across the league. His experience, calm presence, and deep baseball knowledge stand out.
Kershaw retired at age 37 after 18 seasons with the Dodgers. He finished with a 223-96 record and a 2.53 ERA. He won three Cy Young Awards and three World Series titles. His final season ended in dramatic fashion with a championship run.
“I will be able to say for the rest of my life that we won Game 7 of the World Series, the last game I ever played,” Kershaw said after winning his third World Series, via MLB. “You can’t script that. You can’t write it up. Even if I was not throwing 88 [mph], I still would be done. It’s just the perfect way to end it.”
Though broadcasting interest is growing, Kershaw has said family comes first. Back in November 2025, he shared that, "I don’t think there’s any full-time jobs in my immediate future."
Still, a limited media role could fit his current goals.
If a deal is reached, Kershaw would join a strong broadcast lineup. His presence would add credibility to NBC’s MLB return. After years on the mound, his voice may soon shape baseball coverage.
