Creators of Edwin Diaz walkout music want to perform 'Narco' at Mets game

Edwin Diaz of the New York Mets may be the most dominant closer in all of MLB this summer, but it's his "Narco" walkout song by Blasterjaxx and Timmy Trumpet that continues to land the right-hander in headlines. 

At least one couple intends to use the tune as a wedding reception entrance song, and Diaz recently spoke about the viral sensation for a piece posted on the league's website. While WFAN radio personality Gregg Giannotti said ahead of this past weekend that he thinks the song may be "played out," Peter Botte of the New York Post has become the latest person to point out that "Narco" isn't going anywhere anytime soon.

Blasterjaxx's Thom Jongkind and Idir Makhlaf appeared on Monday's edition of the "Amazin’ But True" podcast and revealed they are trying to arrange Visa paperwork to fly from Holland to New York with the hope of performing "Narco" during a Mets regular-season or playoff game. 

"There are talks about things. I have to be very careful with this. The point, as you may know, for Europeans and everyone non-U.S., working on your Visa, might take a while," Jongkind explained. "It’s a pretty bureaucratic procedure. So we are in the middle of that. We are still waiting for that.

"So hopefully when everything falls in place and might be a chance that something could happen. But like I said, it’s very premature right now." 

The story notes that Jongkind and Makhlaf have "exchanged messages on social media with Diaz" since "Narco" unofficially became MLB's top hit of the season. 

"A couple of DMs, vice versa, but through some reporters where we had interviews with, like some messages got transferred to one another. Old time. It’s pretty cool, old school," Jongkind told podcast hosts Jake Brown and Nelson Figueroa. "I believe we made a video message when we were in Ibiza in Spain for him. He replied back with a video message that we found back on Twitter. So that’s how it goes at the moment. It has its charm actually. It’s pretty cool, I guess. So to meet him would be absolutely great." 

The first-place Mets are on track to play multiple meaningful baseball games past Oct. 5, so Blasterjaxx and Trumpet still have some time to finalize the necessary travel arrangements to get to Queens and achieve this goal.
