Cubs, White Sox wild-card TV schedules announced

The Chicago Cubs and Chicago White Sox both qualified for the postseason for the first time since 2020 and only the fourth time ever. Major League Baseball wild-card games are on Tuesday and Wednesday, with Thursday games as necessary. The San Diego Padres are hosting the Cubs, with all of the games beginning at 9 p.m. Central Time.

The American League Western Division Champion, either the Houston Astros or Texas Rangers, will host the White Sox with a 4 p.m. first pitch. The Cubs and White Sox games will appear on NBCSN and Peacock. The Arizona Diamondbacks or Philadelphia Phillies are at the Atlanta Braves, and the New York Yankees host the Boston Red Sox in the other wild-card series.

The Cubs won the season series against the Padres five games to one. In San Diego, the Cubs won two out of three games and outscored the Padres 20-16. San Diego hit .169 with nine home runs against the Cubs in 2026. The Cubs hit .298 with 18 HRs against San Diego in 2026.

Houston won the season series five games to two against the White Sox in 2026. The Astros outscored the White Sox 31-28 overall and 15-10 in Houston in 2026. The White Sox won the season series four games to two against the Rangers in 2026. Both teams scored 37 runs in the six games.
