The Chicago Cubs finished the season on a sour note. They exited the playoffs early, falling to the San Diego Padres in the NL Wild Card series. But they didn’t come away empty-handed.

Pete Crow-Armstrong is poised to win the MVP, and on Friday, they were named to the National League Gold Glove team, per Talkin Baseball. An honor they have now won back-to-back years.

A couple of individual players also won Gold Gloves. Crow-Armstrong won his second straight Gold Glove in center field, and third baseman Alex Bregman won his first as a Cub. Crow-Armstrong led the league with 26 Outs Above Average. Additionally, he finished with 10 Defensive Runs Saved. Overall, Crow-Armstrong finished with a .280 batting average, 45 home runs, 107 RBIs, and 41 stolen bases.

If that wasn’t enough, Crow-Armstrong joined the 40/40 club.

Bregman finished with 72 putouts, 225 assists, and only 5 errors. He also finished with a .983 field percentage. Moreover, Bregman became the first third baseman in Cubs history to win the Gold Glove since Ron Santo.

Meanwhile, Ian Happ, Dansby Swanson, and Seiya Suzuki were nominated for Gold Gloves. Suzuki was a first-time finalist, and Swanson won a Gold Glove in 2023. Happ came in, winning four consecutive Gold Gloves before losing to Jackson Chourio of the champion Milwaukee Brewers.

The Cubs finished the season at 89-73. After an exceptional start, they hit a mid-season slump due to injuries and pitching inconsistencies. Then, they came back later in the year. In the end, the Cubs led the league with 115 Outs Above Average and 73 Defensive Runs Saved.
