Dave Roberts Makes Blunt Statement Regarding Edwin Díaz

The back-to-back World Series Champion Los Angeles Dodgers are rolling heading back into October. They are 8-2 in their last 10 games with a comfortable nine game lead over the San Diego Padres for the National League West division.

The team sits at 90-59, the second best record in the National League.

Despite their continued strong performance, one key player has been missing from the team for most of the season.

That being right-handed closing pitcher Edwin Díaz, who is currently making a minor league rehab assignment for neck inflammation.

Much like his regular season this year, an 11.85 ERA in 13 2/3 innings, his rehab has not looked pretty. Sunday night was the tipping point, as the three-time Reliever of the Year award winner allowed five runs in 2/3 innings of work.

Dodgers’ manager Dave Roberts kept his response blunt, stating that “it hasn’t been good” regarding Díaz’s results.
