The Chicago White Sox made a pair of roster moves involving pitchers before Saturday's game against the Seattle Mariners. The Sox recalled right-hander Davis Martin from Triple-A Charlotte and optioned lefty Sammy Peralta.

Saturday's transactions mark Martin's return to the big-league club following a year-plus absence due to Tommy John surgery and recovery. The 27-year-old owns a 4.83 ERA across 63.1 MLB innings, all of which came in 2022, and touts a 3.43 ERA in 21 minor-league innings this season.

Martin, who had been added to the White Sox' taxi squad earlier in the day, has experience starting and working out of the bullpen.

Peralta posted a 3.00 ERA across six innings with the White Sox this season before his demotion. The southpaw helped Chicago preserve its bullpen by tossing 4.1 scoreless frames in Friday's blowout loss that saw starter Drew Thorpe last just two-thirds of an inning.

The White Sox return to action Saturday looking to even the weekend series against the Mariners. First pitch is at 6:15 PM CT and the game will air nationally on FOX.
