Detroit Tigers Continue Tremendous Play With Jackson Jobe On the Mound

The Detroit Tigers are 8-0 when Starting Pitcher Jackson Jobe has taken the mound in 2025. A 3-2 Tigers win on Sunday against the Toronto Blue Jays improved the team’s record when he toes the slab. Jobe has been mediocre this season. He is 4-0 with a 4.12 ERA. He has been helped by tremendous run support in his appearances. Detroit has averaged 7 runs per game in Jobe’s starts. Will the Detroit Tigers keep winning when Jobe is on the mound?

It has been a great start to the regular season for the Tigers. They have the best record(31-16) in Major League Baseball. Detroit’s offense has been great. They are fifth in batting average, seventh in home runs, and fourth in runs scored. First Baseman Spencer Torkelson has been the team’s best offensive player. He is seventh in the league in home runs and fourth in RBI.

Detroit’s pitching staff has also been stellar. They are fourth in ERA, sixth in opposing batting average, and fourth in WHIP. Starting Pitcher Casey Mize is tied for the league lead with 6 wins, and reigning Cy Young Award winner Tarik Skubal is putting together another solid campaign. Skubal is top 20 in the league in ERA, strikeouts, and WHIP.

Final Thoughts

Jobe’s next scheduled start is on May 23 at home against the Cleveland Guardians. Jobe faced the Guardians in the MLB Playoffs last year and did not fare well. He surrendered an earned run over 1.1 innings of work. The Detroit Tigers will look to go 9-0 when Jobe takes the mound later this week.
