Diamondbacks’ star pitcher Corbin Burnes was placed on the 15-day injured list on Tuesday and will receive a second opinion on what the D-Backs are calling right elbow inflammation.

It was reported that Corbin Burnes will now seek a second opinion on his right elbow after initial tests were inconclusive, and he should have more information on Thursday or Friday. Although this very well could be just a precautionary move and there is nothing more than inflammation.

Moving forward:

The Diamondbacks have recalled Tommy Henry in an according move, which will bring him up to the bullpen role, and Ryne Nelson will once again be placed back into the starting rotation for another massive opportunity to show what he is capable of.

Corbin Burnes is the most recent offseason splash for this Arizona ball club, as he signed a 6-year $210 million dollar deal. Burnes has been a stable and solid piece for this starting rotation. After what has been an incredible start to the season, anything more than a little stint on the IL would hurt this team massively moving forward.

Arizona has now arrived in Atlanta as the Diamondbacks get ready for a three-game series against the Braves at Truist Park.
