The Arizona Diamondbacks have been the latest team in the MLB that's been plagued with injuries in recent weeks.

It all started after first-year Diamondbacks pitcher Corbin Burnes exited early in his last start of the season, which would later turn into Tommy John surgery.

The injuries stayed in the pitching rotation at first, with relief man A.J. Puk also undergoing Tommy John surgery, but within the last couple of games, the injury bug has gone to the team's batting lineup.

Catcher Gabriel Moreno was placed on the injured list after breaking his finger on June 14. Arizona's home run leader, Eugenio Suarez, was recently hit by a pitch, which has him sitting out of Tuesday's game against the White Sox, and now the Diamondbacks have released an update on outfielder Corbin Carroll.

After getting hit by a pitch on June 18 against the Toronto Blue Jays, Carroll has been diagnosed with a chip fracture in his right wrist and was placed on the 10-day injured list on Tuesday.

The move has triggered Arizona to call-up outfielder Jake McCarthy from Triple-A Reno to fill the hole that Carroll left.

Injuries have been piling up for Arizona, and it seems that they keep happening to the Diamondbacks' best players this season.

Carroll is expected to return sometime after the All-Star break, but the Diamondbacks will be without the 2023 Rookie of the Year and his .255 BA, .341 OBP, .573 SLG, and .914 OPS for the foreseeable future.

It will be hard for Arizona to adjust to the rapid amount of injuries they have been sustaining lately, especially while they attempt to stay competitive in an NL West division that is full of juggernauts.

With a 40-38 record, the Diamondbacks sit 2.5 games out of an NL Wild Card spot and are in fourth place in the NL West. The division-leading Los Angeles Dodgers currently hold a 7.5-game lead over Arizona.
