Dodgers' Andrew Friedman Reveals Concerning Trade Deadline Plans

The Los Angeles Dodgers have such a talented roster that if everything goes as planned before the deadline, there might not be much of a reason for them to add.

While that’s something the Dodgers have to consider, Andrew Friedman also understands that things don't always go as planned.

According to Friedman's words, when speaking to reporters, including the Los Angeles Times, his plan at the deadline is to always refrain from buying. He believes that what he does in the off-season speaks for itself, and if things go well health-wise, the Dodgers won't have to.

With this campaign being riddled with multiple injuries, however, Friedman understands that he might not have much of a choice but to buy.

“I’m still optimistic,” Friedman said. “It requires guys coming back on or close to the timelines that we have penciled out.

“We have shown that, if we’re not in position to do that, we’ll be aggressive to add. But our strong desire is not to.”

This can be viewed in several ways, but ultimately, if the Dodgers have an opportunity to improve, they should take it, and they likely will.

However, it's also essential that Friedman noted that they have a few players penciled in to return sometime in the near future.

With multiple starters in the rotation on the IL, the hope is for the Dodgers to at least get healthy on that front. They’ve dealt with some injuries offensively, but nothing like what they've dealt with on the bump.
