The Los Angeles Dodgers are in the process of completing significant renovations to Level One of Dodger Stadium, an area that includes the home clubhouse, as they continue to upgrade and modernize one of the most iconic ballparks in baseball.

Construction will be completed in time for the start of the Dodgers’ 2025 season, the team said.

First opening its doors in 1962, Dodger Stadium stands as the third-oldest stadium in MLB and sixth-oldest in the United States. As such, it has an extensive history of very successful renovations that has brought the stadium into the modern age.

Many of the changes and additions beloved by patrons of Dodger Stadium have occurred in the past 12 years under the Guggenheim Baseball Management group.

The year 2012 saw extensive renovations to outfield video boards, clubhouses and weight rooms, restrooms, concession stands, sound system and team batting cages. It was the same year that renowned architect Janet Marie Smith was brought into the fold as Senior Vice President of Planning and Development.

Marie Smith held the same role during her time with the Baltimore Orioles from 1989–1994, becoming the first woman to hold this executive position in MLB history. She is best known for her part in the construction of Camden Yards which is touted as a modern marvel.

The next eight years saw relatively minor changes and additions. The renovations in 2021 is where Marie Smith really got her chance to flex her creative muscles. It was the largest project Dodger Stadium had seen in decades, with a complete transformation of the centerfield plaza.

The area was converted into a new entrance with statues of Dodgers greats, food and drink options, entertainment and retail areas, Legends of Dodger Baseball plaques, bridged concourse across outfield pavilion, batter’s eye wall in center field, new children’s play area in center field, elevators in left and right field servicing all stadium levels and overhauled sound system.
