Dodgers Announce Roster Change After Getting Swept By Angels

There's no doubt that it's been a great season so far for the Los Angeles Dodgers, as they sit in first place in a competitive NL West with a record of 29-18 and a run differential of plus 63.

However, for the first time this season, they were swept in a three-game series against the Los Angeles Angels, who have struggled all season, sitting in last place of the AL West with a 20-25 record.

Fortunately for the Dodgers, though, reinforcements are soon on the way, with the team announcing on Monday that they have activated outfielder Teoscar Hernández while optioning outfielder James Outman to Triple-A.

Of course, this is great news for the Dodgers, as they have been without Hernández's services since May 6, when they had to place him on the 10-day injured list due to a left groin strain.

Before then, he was having a great season, appearing in 33 games and accumulating 130 at-bats, 41 hits, 21 runs scored, 34 RBIs, four stolen bases, nine home runs, four walks and 78 total bases.

Hernández has also put together an extremely impressive slash line of .315/.333/.494, and his OPS of .933 is the fourth-highest for any member of the Dodgers who has had at least 100 at-bats.

It's especially good considering that Outman, who was brought in to help take his place, has struggled, slashing .125/.222/.597 with just three hits, five runs scored and four RBIs in 24 at-bats.

It will now remain to be seen if Hernández can come in and make an immediate impact, as the Dodgers are set to begin a three-game series against the Arizona Diamondbacks on Monday.
