With both the Dodgers and Yankees trying to get back to the World Series, Los Angeles sent a midseason message to the team they beat for the title last season. The Dodgers absolutely obliterated the Yankees to the tune of an 18-2 win on Saturday.
The 16-run win followed an 8-5 victory on Friday as the Dodgers took the series and are now tied for the most wins in the National League with 36.
Los Angeles chased New York starter Will Warren from the game after he surrendered seven earned runs in only 1.1 innings of work.
The Dodgers' potent offense would score multiple runs in four separate innings, record nine total extra base hits and connect on five overall home runs without even getting one from MLB leader Shohei Ohtani.
With already four runs on the board in the second, Max Muncy, who hit another later in the game, and Hyes-eong Kim went yard.
Muncy's home runs were No. 200 and No. 201 of his career and part of a seven-RBI performance.

Dalton Rushing and Andy Pages crushed bombs of their own in the seventh and eighth innings to continue pouring salt in the Yankees' wounds.
Aaron Judge, who now sits just one behind Ohtani, joined the homer party for New York, scoring their only two runs of the game with two solo shots in the fourth and eighth innings.
And while a couple interleague wins would normally just be blips on a team's full schedule, Los Angeles's complete domination of the team they already beat for a championship once, and could easily see again, serves as a statement to the entire league.
The Dodgers will look to enhance their statement with a sweep on Sunday night. First pitch from Dodger Stadium is set for 7:10 pm.
