Dodgers Broadcaster Joe Davis Wins Sports Emmy Award For 2024

Los Angeles Dodgers broadcaster Joe Davis once again was recognized for his national work with Fox Sports as he was named winner in the Outstanding Personality/Play-By-Play category at the 46th annual Sports Emmy Awards.

The entire group of Sports Emmy Award winners were announced Tuesday night at Lincoln Center’s Frederick P. Rose Hall in Manhattan. Winners were chosen by the National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences.

Davis also was nominated as part of the Outstanding Live Special – Championship Event category for his work with Fox covering the 2024 World Series between the Dodgers and New York Yankees. However, that was won by NBC/Peacock for their coverage of the Paris Olympics.

Davis was among those recognized for Fox winning in the Outstanding Live Special – Non-Championship Event category with their broadcast of the “Rickwood Field: A Tribute to the Negro Leagues” game last season.

Davis additionally was part of the Fox/FS1 group winning the Sports Emmy Award for Outstanding Studio Show – Limited Run
for the 2024 MLB postseason.

The 2025 season marks Davis’ 10th with the Dodgers. He assumed full-time duties once Vin Scully retired after the 2016 season.

In 2022, Davis replaced Joe Buck as the lead MLB play-by-play announcer for Fox Sports.

Davis and former Dodgers Spanish-language broadcaster Jaime Jarrín were were named finalists for the National Sports Media Association’s 2025 Hall of Fame class.

Davis was under consideration for the National Sportscaster of the Year, while Jarrín was up for the Hall of Fame Sportscaster category.

Ian Eagle was ultimately selected as the 2024 National Sportscaster of the Year, and Jarrín was not named to the National Sports Media Association’s Hall of Fame class.
