Clayton Kershaw has had an eventful 2022 season thus far.
In his first start of the year, the future Hall-of-Famer was controversially pulled from the game after going seven perfect innings. At the start of May, Kershaw surpassed Los Angeles Dodgers legend Don Sutton for the franchise's all-time strikeout record.
Kershaw also missed approximately one month of action due to pelvic injury, but returned in June. Overall, the southpaw's first-half numbers were stellar: 7-2, 2.13 ERA, 0.90 WHIP, 75 strikeouts in 71 2/3 innings pitched (12 starts) and as a result, Kershaw was named to his ninth All-Star team.
According to Jon Heyman, the three-time NL Cy Young Award winner is now expected to toe the rubber for the start of Tuesday night's All-Star Game in his home stadium. Per Heyman, Kershaw will likely be opposed by a fellow lefty who's nine years his junior.
Alltime great Dodger Clayton Kershaw is expected to start the All-Star Game tomorrow at Dodger Stadium. Shane McClanahan is the favorite to oppose him.

In his second big league season, McClanahan is 10-3 with an MLB-leading 1.71 ERA, league-best 0.79 WHIP and 147 strikeouts across 110 2/3 innings over 18 starts.
