Tyler Glasnow, a right-handed starter, is in his tenth major-league season and his second with the Los Angeles Dodgers. Originally selected by the Pittsburgh Pirates in the fifth round of the 2011 MLB Draft, Glasnow made his major-league debut in 2016.
In 2018, he was traded to the Tampa Bay Rays alongside outfielder Austin Meadows and pitcher Shane Baz for Chris Archer, in one of the most lopsided trade-deadline deals in recent memory.
Glasnow spent six seasons in Tampa Bay, establishing himself as a dominant force when healthy, but he battled injuries and was included in a pre-2024-season trade that sent him, outfielder Manuel Margot and $4 million to the Dodgers in exchange for starting pitcher Ryan Pepiot and outfielder Jonny DeLuca.
In his first year with the Dodgers, he earned his first All-Star selection but was sidelined for the team's 2024 World Series run with elbow tendinitis.
In 2025, Glasnow has been on the injured list with right shoulder inflammation since April 28, one day after exiting a start in the first inning due to shoulder discomfort.
Today, before the Dodgers’ series opener against the Milwaukee Brewers, manager Dave Roberts confirmed that Glasnow will pitch on Wednesday, marking his return to the rotation.

Through five starts this season, Glasnow has posted a 4.50 ERA and a 1–0 record, and upon his return he’ll attempt to replicate last year’s 3.49 ERA and 168 strikeouts over 134 innings.
Entering Monday’s game against the Brewers, Los Angeles holds a 7.0-game NL West lead over both the San Diego Padres and San Francisco Giants. Glasnow’s addition will be a major boost in their pursuit of a division title, providing much-needed innings to a bullpen that leads the majors in workload.
