Los Angeles Dodgers star Freddie Freeman is looking to have a healthy 2026 season. Freeman was dealing with "a little bit of a health issue" following the long 2025 season that saw LA win its second consecutive World Series championship, Ben Nicholson-Smith of Sportsnet reported in December. During a recent interview with MLB Network, Freeman provided an encouraging injury update.

"100 percent, ready to roll," Freeman responded when asked if he is currently 100 percent healthy.

At 36 years old, Freeman has continued to play at a high level. He was asked how he's been able to find consistent success throughout the years without displaying signs of decline.

"I wish I had the secret sauce to let everybody know," Freeman said. "I don't know, when I came in the league I was a little heavier. Just didn't really know how to eat and workout. As I've gotten older and just learning how my body works and how to get through a 162 game grind, I'm very stubborn to a routine. I care about the little things.

"I just try to keep myself in as good of shape as possible because I love this game. I want to play it as long as I possibly can. So far, so good."

Freddie Freeman is establishing himself as one of the better first basemen in MLB history.

Freeman earned the ninth All-Star selection of his career in 2025. He is about as consistent as any star in the game, as he recorded a strong .295/.367/.502 slash line across 147 games played a season ago. His numbers were close to his career .300/.386/.511 slash line.

Freeman also hit 24 home runs and 39 doubles. It seems as if Freeman can continue playing the game for years to come. The 36-year-old is simply not showing any signs of slowing down anytime soon.

Dodgers fans know that Freddie Freeman is a team-first player. He places wins and losses about personal accolades. With that being said, it would not be surprising to see Freeman achieve both feats once again in 2026. He will probably end up on the National League All-Star team again, and the Dodgers are in a terrific position to win a third consecutive World Series championship.
