The Los Angeles Dodgers had a good approach against presumed National League Cy Young Award winner Jacob Misiorowski on Sunday night, but it wasn’t enough to defeat the Milwaukee Brewers in Game 1 of the NL Championship Series at American Family Field.
The Dodgers made the right-hander throw 94 pitches over just 4.1 innings and were able to strike first with Andy Pages’ RBI single in the top of the second. But that was all for L.A.’s offense as they went just 1-for-6 with runners in scoring position and left nine on base.
The Dodgers’ 2-1 loss to the Brewers was only their second overall defeat of the 2026 postseason. It was also their first playoff loss against Milwaukee since Game 6 of the 2018 NLCS.
The Dodgers had taken seven consecutive postseason games from the Brewers prior to Sunday night, which was the second-longest winning streak by an NL team against a single opponent in MLB history, according to OptaSTATS.
The @Dodgers have won seven straight postseason games against the Brewers.
The longest postseason winning streak ever by an NL team against a single opponent is eight straight: the Giants over the Yankees (1921-23) and the Cardinals over the Padres (1996-2006). https://t.co/MbHQ9u8pKc

The Dodgers’ postseason winning streak against the Brewers began in Game 7 of the 2018 NLCS, when they earned a hard-fought victory on the road to return to the World Series for the second consecutive year.
The teams then met again in the 2020 NL Wild Card Series, which saw L.A. sweep Milwaukee at Dodger Stadium en route to eventually reaching the World Series and ending a 32-year championship drought.
The Dodgers most recently completed a four-game sweep of the Brewers in the 2025 NLCS before going on to repeat as World Series champions. If they are going to pull off the rare three-peat this year, L.A. will need to win four of the next six games against Milwaukee to get back to the Fall Classic.
The Dodgers will look to pull even with the Brewers on Monday night before the NLCS shifts to Dodger Stadium for Game 3. Yoshinobu Yamamoto is taking the mound for his 12th playoff appearance and 11th start. The Brewers are countering with Logan Henderson.
Yamamoto always seems to deliver for the Dodgers in high-stakes games and they are hoping for another strong effort from him in Game 2.
