The Los Angeles Dodgers have proven all they've needed to this offseason after winning the 2024 World Series.
However, a new report indicates they could potentially make another splash in the trade market.
As the season approaches, the Dodgers have re-engaged in trade talks with third baseman Nolan Arenado, according to a DodgersNation report.
The Dodgers have been linked to Arenado since the beginning of the offseason, but talks had fizzled out when it was clear Los Angeles would have to eat up a bunch of Arenado's contract.
As time has passed, the St. Louis Cardinals seem more willing to try and move on from the superstar and have reportedly been open to eating more of the $64 million remaining on his contract.
If Arenado were dealt to Los Angeles, the baseball landscape would explode with an outcry about the Dodgers' expenditures this offseason.
Still, if the Dodgers have a position they could improve at, it's third base.
Arenado has 341 career home runs and has won 10 Gold Glove Awards over his 12-year career.
Other teams that may be interested in trading for the right-handed slugger are the Boston Red Sox and New York Yankees. Both seemingly need Arenado to fill their lineup holes more than the Dodgers.
Alex Bregman still remains the biggest name on the market, but if Arenado makes it more apparent that he wants out of St. Louis, he will be a top name to watch out for as he makes any lineup immediately better.
