Los Angeles Dodgers left-hander Justin Wrobleski took responsibility for his outing after Tuesday's 7-6 loss to the Seattle Mariners, acknowledging the damage caused by a career-high four home runs despite working six innings in the series opener.
Wrobleski struck out seven batters over 6.0 innings but surrendered four solo home runs in one of the toughest starts of his season. Even with the setback, the rookie left-hander battled through 102 pitches to give Los Angeles valuable length.
The Dodgers remain atop the National League West with a 67-40 record despite the loss, while Seattle continues fighting for position in the American League West.
"They got me. That's part of the game, sometimes that happens. It's definitely something I don't want to have happen again.

Speaking with SportsNet LA after the game, Wrobleski accepted responsibility for the result. "They got me. That's part of the game, sometimes that happens," he said. "It's definitely something I don't want to have happen again."
Cal Raleigh, Julio Rodríguez , Luke Raley and Dominic Canzone each hit solo home runs against Wrobleski. Despite the damage, the left-hander completed six innings, helping preserve a Dodgers bullpen that has carried a heavy workload throughout the season.
Los Angeles nearly erased the deficit behind home runs from Shohei Ohtani and Max Muncy before Canzone's late solo shot proved to be the difference. The loss ended the Dodgers' bid for another victory but left them comfortably atop the division.
Wrobleski has still been one of the Dodgers' most reliable starters during an injury-plagued season, providing quality innings while several veteran arms remain sidelined. He is expected to regroup before making his next scheduled start Sunday against the Boston Red Sox.
