Dodgers Make Announcement on Struggling Pitcher Before Series vs. Cardinals

The Los Angeles Dodgers were able to hold off losing the series they hosted against their NL rival, the New York Mets.

After battling it out in a four-game series at Dodger Stadium, both teams were able to come out with two wins.

It wasn't looking very convincing for the Dodgers in the last game, as they headed into the bottom of the eighth with a two-run deficit before Will Smith, Andy Pages, and Michael Conforto all delivered run-scoring hits to lift the Dodgers ahead.

They would later keep the lead and win the game, with Tanner Scott earning the save.

Dodgers option pitcher Landon Knack to minors, recall Justin Wrobleski

Although the Dodgers won the game, it was another rough outing for right-handed pitcher Landon Knack.

In just 3.1 innings pitched, Knack threw 86 pitches, giving up four hits, three home runs, and four earned runs.

It was the fifth straight start that Knack gave up a home run, and it's been announced that the Dodgers will be sending the 27-year-old pitcher back down to the minors, the team announced on Friday.

The move will give 24-year-old lefty Justin Wrobleski another chance at the big leagues after spending part of May in the minors.

Wrobleski has started in two games for the Dodgers this season, logging a 1-1 record.

His first start on April 8 against the Washington Nationals didn't go as planned, giving up eight hits and eight runs in 5 innings pitched.

However his May 15 start went a lot smoother, giving up just one hit and zero earned runs in four innings pitched.

He will join fellow pitchers Kirby Yates and Michael Kopech as they eye a possible return to action as the Los Angeles Dodgers head to St. Louis for a three-game series against the Cardinals beginning on Friday night.
