The Los Angeles Dodgers have enjoyed remarkable success since Mookie Betts arrived from the Boston Red Sox ahead of the 2020 MLB season. In six years with the club, Betts has added three more rings to his collection and now leads all active players with four championships.
Individually, 2025 proved to be one of Betts’ tougher seasons at the plate. The 33-year-old veteran posted a .258 batting average, a .326 on-base percentage and a .732 OPS, with 20 home runs and 80 RBIs across 150 games.
While his offensive numbers dipped, Betts made notable strides defensively at shortstop and even finished as a finalist for a Gold Glove Award. It was not a lost season, but rather one that highlighted his versatility and value beyond the batter’s box.
During the offseason, Betts has shifted focus toward building his personal brand and expanding his impact off the field. He has continued to create content, sign new partnerships and work alongside his wife Brianna on their 50/50 Foundation, which empowers underserved youth through programs centered on mental health, nutrition, physical fitness and financial literacy.
On Wednesday night, Betts appeared on a Twitch stream with Adin Ross where he shared personal news. He revealed his wife is expecting their third child in March, which means he will not participate in the upcoming World Baseball Classic for Team USA.
“Nah, man, so I was, but I can't now. My wife, you know, we're having a kid, so the baby is due right in the middle of the WBC. She said she would divorce me if I wasn't there,” Betts joked (h/t Dodgers Nation).

Betts and Brianna already have two children together. Their daughter Kynlee Ivory was born in November 2018 and their son Kaj Lynn arrived in April 2023. With another child on the way, Betts’ priorities this spring will center on family before his attention turns back to helping the Dodgers chase yet another championship in 2026.
Betts has already built a career worthy of Cooperstown consideration. He just finished his 12th MLB season and stands as one of the most decorated players of his generation. He is an eight-time All-Star, six-time Gold Glove winner and seven-time Silver Slugger recipient.
He also owns a batting title, the 2018 American League MVP and four World Series championships. With that combination of accolades and longevity, Betts appears well on his way to a future Hall of Fame induction.
