Los Angeles Dodgers shortstop Mookie Betts has enjoyed an incredible MLB career, standing as the current active leader in World Series titles with four.
His most recent championship in 2025 came after the most challenging season of his Dodgers tenure, one marked by significant weight loss early in the year that he never fully recovered from.
The 33-year-old veteran was not his usual MVP-caliber self at the plate, posting a .258 batting average, a .326 on-base percentage, a .732 OPS, 20 home runs and 82 RBIs across 589 at-bats.
Still, Betts found ways to contribute, making strides defensively up the middle and earning a Gold Glove Award nomination at shortstop. He also continued to serve as a respected clubhouse leader, setting the tone for a team chasing history.
While Betts has stayed busy this MLB offseason, his activities have extended well beyond the diamond. He has leaned into his role as a baseball content creator, engaging fans with behind-the-scenes videos that highlight his personality as much as his play.
At the same time, he has continued his charitable work through the 50/50 Foundation, which focuses on empowering youth and underserved communities. These efforts underscore Betts’ commitment to making an impact both on and off the field.
Most recently, Betts carved out time to connect directly with his supporters in Los Angeles. In a story post on Instagram, he announced a special event tied to Tequila Providencia, the additive-free brand he co-founded.
Betts shared that he would personally sign bottles of tequila purchased by fans on Saturday. He added a message to the announcement that read, “It’s official L.A. – we’re here. See you this Saturday.”
The signing is scheduled for December 27, 2025, from 10:00 to 11:30 a.m. at a Costco Warehouse in Marina Del Rey, California.
Eventually, Betts’ focus will shift back to baseball as he prepares for his 13th MLB season and seventh with the Dodgers. He still has seven years remaining on the 12-year, $365 million contract extension he signed in 2020.
Betts will not participate in the upcoming World Baseball Classic in March due to the birth of his third child, but when he returns to the field, his sights will be set on helping Los Angeles pursue a three-peat as World Series champions.
With an MVP, eight All-Star selections, six Gold Gloves and seven Silver Sluggers already to his name, Betts remains firmly on track for the Hall of Fame, continuing to build a legacy few players in history can match.
