The Los Angeles Dodgers have officially released three pitchers and one catcher from the organization early in the 2026 season.

Right-handed pitchers Shawndrick Oduber, William Maynard and Connor Godwin as well as catcher Carlos Avila were all released, per the team’s transaction log on MiLB.com. Oduber and Godwin were released from the Ontario Tower Buzzers — the Dodgers’ new Single-A affiliate — while Maynard and Avila were released from the Arizona Complex League Dodgers.

Dodgers Release Shawndrick Oduber

Oduber, 21, initially signed with the Kansas City Royals in September 2022 out of Aruba. He played in Rookie Ball in both 2023 and 2024 before the Dodgers traded for him in April 2025.

The Dodgers started Oduber in Rookie Ball before promoting him to Single-A Rancho Cucamonga.

He made 29 relief appearances for the Quakes last season, sporting a 6.23 ERA with 50 strikeouts over 47.2 innings pitched.

Oduber was with the Kingdom of the Netherlands in the 2026 World Baseball Classic, but didn’t pitch. He was set to open the 2026 season in Single-A, but has instead been released.

Dodgers Release William Maynard

Maynard, 22, signed with the Dodgers in August 2023 and was assigned to the Arizona Complex League. He worked his way up to Single-A in 2025, where he made six relief appearances, allowing eight earned runs over 4.2 innings for a 15.43 ERA.

He walked 11 batters with one hit by pitch to just two strikeouts. He was sent back to the Arizona Complex League last September, and has now been released.

Dodgers Release Connor Godwin

Godwin, 24, signed with the Dodgers in August 2022 and was assigned to the Arizona Complex League.

He underwent Tommy John surgery and didn’t pitch in 2023 or 2024, making his debut with the organization in 2025. He made 36 appearances at Single-A, sporting a 7.63 ERA across 43.2 innings.

He was set to open the season with the Tower Buzzers, but has instead been released.

Dodgers Release Carlos Avila

Avila, 22, signed with the Dodgers in January 2021 out of Venezuela. He played in the Dodgers' Dominican Summer league in 2021 and 2022 before going to the Arizona Complex League in 2023.

He jumped from Rookie Ball to Double-A in 2024, and then spent 2025 at four levels, including Triple-A Oklahoma City, where he went 0-for-7 with two strikeouts.

Overall, across 28 games at four levels in 2025, Avila hit .299 with zero home runs, 10 RBIs, 10 walks, 16 strikeouts and an OPS of .738 over 67 at-bats. He was back in the Arizona Complex League before being released.
