Dodgers pitcher Trevor Bauer reportedly faced previous protection order from Ohio woman in 2020

There have been more developments in the Trevor Bauer story.

The Los Angeles Dodgers pitcher was given a temporary order of protection last year after he allegedly physically abused an Ohio woman and made a death threat toward her, according to The Washington Post.

According to sealed court records and other documents obtained by the Post, the woman says Bauer punched and choked her without consent during a sexual encounter.

He also allegedly sent her a text message saying he doesn't "feel like spending time in jail for killing someone." Bauer allegedly added: "And that's what would happen if I saw you again." That's when the woman sought a protective order.

The woman also attempted in 2017 to show police photographs of injuries to her eyes, but she was instead arrested for underage drinking, according to a police report obtained by the Post. The Post obtained photos showing bruises on her face and blood in her eyes.

It's unclear if the woman's allegations were investigated.

Bauer addressed the allegations via social media on Saturday, saying the Post was trying to create a "false narrative" by contacting his female acquaintances.

The former Cy Young winner added that the woman harassed him and tried to extort him for "millions of dollars" in exchange for her not coming forward with "false claims."

Bauer's lawyer and agent said in a statement that their client and the woman were in a consensual relationship from 2016-19 and that she demanded $3.4 million to remain silent. They also called the accusations "categorically false" in a statement to the Post.

Bauer has been on administrative leave since early July stemming from other sexual assault allegations made by a California woman. That woman claims Bauer choked her until she lost consciousness on multiple occasions, punched her in several areas and left her with injuries that required hospitalization.

Bauer also denied those allegations and is currently being investigated by the Pasadena Police Department and Major League Baseball.

Mike DiGiovanna of the Los Angeles Times reported last month that the "majority" of Bauer's teammates don't want him back in the clubhouse "under any circumstances."
