The Los Angeles Dodgers recalled Landon Knack and optioned Bobby Miller to Triple-A Oklahoma City ahead of the series finale against the Cincinnati Reds.

Miller joined the Dodgers on Sept. 14 as the corresponding move for Edgardo Henriquez landing on the injured list.

He made one appearance since being recalled, which came on Wednesday. Miller pitched 2.1 innings while allowing two runs on three hits with one strikeout and no walks.

The right-hander was called upon to eat multiple innings after Blake Snell only managed to throw one inning before exiting due to left groin tightness.

Miller allowed a solo home run in the fifth inning, and then struggled more in the sixth. He gave up a leadoff single and hit a batter before exiting for Alex Vesia, who promptly allowed one of those runs to score with it being charged to Miller.

It was just Miller’s second appearance for the Dodgers this season. He previously tossed three innings of one-run ball against the Washington Nationals at Dodger Stadium on Sept. 6.

The 27-year-old has been in the Majors parts of four seasons with the Dodgers, posting a 14-8 record and a 5.43 ERA. He had his best season in 2023, setting career marks in wins (11), starts (22), ERA (3.76), innings pitched (124.1), strikeouts (119) and WHIP (1.10) while looking like a potential future ace after being the club’s top pitching prospect.

However, struggles in 2024 and injury issues threw Miller’s career off track. He spent most of the 2026 season on the 60-day IL while dealing with a shoulder injury and only pitched five innings at the MLB level in 2025.

In Triple-A this year, some of which while on a rehab assignment, Miller pitched to a 6.32 ERA in 15.2 innings with 18 strikeouts to seven walks.

Landon Knack returns to Dodgers

Knack joins the roster for his third stint with the Dodgers this season. The club was already planning to use a bullpen game on Thursday, so the need for an additional arm became heightened after Wednesday also turned into an impromptu bullpen game.

Justin Wrobleski is starting against the Reds, and is expected to combine with Knack to cover a majority of the game.

Knack last pitched for the Dodgers on Aug. 12 against the Kansas City Royals to provide length for the team. Knack ended up recording the save, pitching the final 2.2 innings while allowing no runs on two hits, adding two strikeouts without a walk.

Knack was among their pitchers who began the 2026 season on the injured list and wasn’t activated until July 11, where he remained with the team until July 21. During that stretch he appeared in two games, throwing a combined five innings and allowing five runs, including two home runs in each appearance.

So far this season, Knack has posted a 5.87 ERA over 7.2 innings. Knack is a career 4.24 ERA pitcher in 119 innings over parts of three seasons.

With the Comets this year, Knack holds a 2.08 ERA in 34.2 innings.
