Dodgers Receive Tyler Glasnow News Before Brewers Game

The Los Angeles Dodgers starting rotation ranks among the best in baseball with a 47-29 record, a 3.45 ERA, 649 strikeouts, all while limiting opposing batters to a .218 batting average and 96 home runs over 665 innings.

Their already dominant rotation is close to adding another arm soon, as the Dodgers received an update on Tyler Glasnow's rehab assignment this week, with the right-hander lined up for his next start with Triple-A Oklahoma City on Friday. Glasnow, who has been out since early May with a back injury, is expected to throw for four innings, around 60 pitches total in the outing.

The plan would be for the 32-year-old to get one more start following Friday before the Dodgers would consider activating him from the 60-day injured list.

It's a positive update for the club, which is still leading the National League West at a 73-48 record, having won two straight games following a seven-game losing streak. IN the last two weeks, the Dodgers' starters struggled, with a 4.57 ERA, allowing 64 runs, 51 walks and a 1.36 WHIP.

Fortunately for Los Angeles, Glasnow's return would add another boost to the club after teammate Blake Snell was activated on Wednesday. Manager Dave Roberts has said he will be cautious with Glasnow's situation, given his injury history and the team's focus on having him available in October.

If Friday's start goes well, Glasnow could be nearing a return to a Dodgers staff stacked with Yoshinobu Yamamoto, Roki Sasaki, Tarik Skubal and Snell.
