The Los Angeles Dodgers played a truncated Spring Training schedule because of starting the 2024 season early with the Seoul Series in South Korea, but average attendance at Camelback Ranch still saw an increase from last year.

With an attendance of 12,230 at Camelback Ranch for their final Cactus League game on March 13, the Dodgers set a record average of 11,058 in their 11 home games in Arizona this spring. The increase in average Dodgers attendance at Camelback Ranch from 2023 was nearly 20%.

Fans who attended Cactus League games at Camelback Ranch were often treated to the Dodgers coming away victorious. They had two games rained out, including one at home, but went 13-5-1 to post the best Cactus League record of 2024 Spring Training.

Some of the larger crowds the Dodgers drew were for Shohei Ohtani’s Spring Training debut with the team and for their second-to-last matchup in Arizona when they hosted the rival San Francisco Giants.

The Dodgers had crowds of 42,607 and 27,014 for the first two games of the Freeway Series at Dodger Stadium.

“The last two days have been pretty amazing,” Freeman said before the Dodgers concluded their exhibition schedule in Anaheim. “For a Spring Training game, during the week, for them to come out and support us, you can see how excited they are for this year.

“And so are we. We have one more tuneup, then get a day off and start the grind of 160. I can’t say 162 because we’ve already played two.”

Early interest in the Dodgers doesn’t come as much of a surprise and that’s expected to carry into the regular season as well.

Dodgers attendance for 2023

In 2023, Dodgers attendance finished at 3,837,079, marking their fifth-largest total in franchise history. The Dodgers had 19 sellouts at Dodger Stadium last season and averaged 47,371 fans per game.

Total MLB attendance for the 2023 season was 70,747,365, marking the first time since 2017 the the sum from all 30 clubs reached 70 million.
