The Wichita Thunder have announced that they have signed 6’0″ forward Erik Miller for the 2025-26 season.

Junior Career

Erik Miller started his junior career in the 2015-16 season playing with the Kamloops Blazers in the WHL. In 100 games played, Miller registered six goals and eight assists for 14 points.

Miller then went to the AJHL, where he finished his junior career playing for the Sherwood Park Crusaders and Camrose Kodiaks. Miller played in 162 games in the AJHL, where he had 46 goals and 95 assists for 141 points with 211 penalty minutes. He had nine goals and 13 assists for 22 points with 22 penalty minutes in 22 playoff games.

The Sherwood Park, Alberta native then stayed in Alberta for his collegiate career, where he played at Red Deer Polytechnic in the Alberta Colleges Athletic Conference (ACAC). Miller spent four years at Red Deer but only played in three after the 2020-21 season was cancelled due to COVID. In 61 collegiate games, Miller registered 18 goals and 47 assists for 65 points with 60 penalty minutes. He had four goals and nine assists for 13 points and two penalty minutes in 13 playoff games.

Professional Career

After completing his collegiate career, Miller decided to go overseas to start his professional career. Miller spent the 2024-25 season in Belgium playing for Chiefs Leuven in the CEHL. In 32 games, Miller registered 26 goals and 33 assists for 59 points with 30 penalty minutes. In two playoff games, he had one goal and one assist with four penalty minutes.

Erik Miller is a pretty offensive forward who can not only score goals, but he can also set up his teammates to score. Miller is able to read the ice really well, allowing him to find openings on the ice. This will be Miller’s first season playing professionally in North America, so it may take him some time to adjust to the style of play, but he should be a good offensive forward for the Thunder.
