Elly De La Cruz: A true Baseball phenom

Since his Major League Baseball (MLB) debut in 2023, fans have been astonished by his exceptional size and speed. Shortstops are usually among the shortest players in the field, but not him. He is 6'5" and weighs 200 pounds. His speed was on full display last season when he stole 67 bases.  

 In less than two full seasons, De La Cruz has 106 career stolen bases, as he puts his speed on display for everyone. If he continues to run the bases at this pace, he could become one of the greatest baserunners in MLB history. 

 De La Cruz's batting average is something he must improve. He is hitting .249 for his career. This year, his average has dipped to .243. De La Cruz already steals a ridiculous number of bases. If he could improve his batting average, he would have more chances to leave his mark.

 The Cincinnati Reds have missed the playoffs in De La Cruz's two seasons with the team. They finished 82-80 in 2023, outperforming only the Pittsburgh Pirates in the NL Central.
