The Toronto Blue Jays had many players contribute during their World Series run in 2025, but one player who stood out was infielder Ernie Clement. The 30‑year‑old set an MLB postseason record for most hits in a single playoff run, collecting 30 hits in just 73 at‑bats and providing a spark at the bottom of Toronto’s lineup.
Clement will look to build on that momentum this year as he enters his fourth season with the Blue Jays. He has not been that same level of hitter across a full season, as he posted a .277 batting average, .313 on‑base percentage and .711 OPS with nine home runs and 50 RBIs across 157 games last year.
His primary value has come from his ability to play multiple infield positions at a high level, so if he can carry over even a portion of his October performance into 2026, it would be a major boost for Toronto.
Even as Clement shifts his focus to the upcoming season, his postseason breakout has clearly elevated his profile. He has become a household name in Canada, and his influence has extended into the United States as well, highlighted by his appearance for Team USA at this year’s World Baseball Classic.
Clement is starting to grow his personal brand, and this week that visibility earned him a new partnership. Clement took to Instagram to debut a new video in collaboration with Factor, a meal‑service company.
“Factor is proud to partner with professional baseball player Ernie Clement, supporting him with the nutrition that fuels his performance on and off the field!” the caption read.
With the physically demanding 162‑game MLB schedule, it makes sense why Clement would partner with a meal‑prep service to ensure he gets the proper nutrition and recovery support.
Clement’s MLB journey began with the Cleveland Guardians in 2021 before he was released and later claimed and designated for assignment by the Athletics.
The Blue Jays signed him to a minor‑league deal in 2023, and since then he has become a foundational piece for the club thanks to his elite contact skills and defensive versatility.
Toronto believes Clement’s continued growth could make him one of the most valuable players in the American League this season.
