Toronto Blue Jays infielder Ernie Clement has had a stellar couple of months in the season. The 30-year-old is batting .293, with a .317 on-base percentage, with five home runs and 20 RBI in 56 games.

Clement's value in Toronto extends beyond his numbers. He arrived before the 2023 season on a minor-league deal after stints with the Cleveland Guardians and the Athletics, and has since become one of the team's most beloved players. He cemented that status last fall, setting the MLB record for most hits in a single postseason with 30 during Toronto’s run to the World Series.

Clement has been a key player for the Blue Jays as they continue to deal with an injury-riddled roster. His ability to make plays across the infield and keep the lineup moving with his contact-oriented bat is what has kept Toronto afloat in the American League East at 28-29 with a three-game win streak.

Even with Toronto being busy, nearing the end of a 17-straight game stretch, Clement shared to social media after stopping by McAlpine Ford Lincoln in Aurora, Ontario, where he greeted fans and made a specific ask of the Blue Jays faithful. He asked fans to visit the dealership, framing the trip as their own "winning move."

The Blue Jays will need Clement to keep his hot start going as the team continues to deal with injuries and a tough schedule ahead while trying to gain ground in the AL East. If he can do that, the Blue Jays will be in a good position to make another run at a World Series title.
