Everyone prepares differently for their fantasy baseball drafts. It all depends on how you play the game and who you are playing against. I play with some former colleagues in a 10-team league and prepare very little before the draft. It is a points league so there are projections vs the points and scarcity of positions to take into account of course. However, in that particular league, it is the weekly work that wins so I don’t stress the draft part.
For the auction leagues that I play in versus experts like Tout Wars and LABR (League of Alternative Baseball Reality, the USA Today Experts League), the story is different. I use the SMART System and give every player a bidding range for in the draft and specifically target the players I want. Then, play our four to five different scenarios and prepare for all of them.
So, it is very different for everyone. Within this section are links to our coverage. We will add links to new posts and to our favorites from around the internet as well so that you can prepare as you need to depending on the type of league you are in. We will post more here so please bookmark this so you can visit us often.
