Felix Hernandez has decided against playing this MLB season.

Hernandez’s agent tweeted on Saturday night that the pitcher will not be playing this season due to concerns over the coronavirus.

Hernandez spent his entire career with Seattle but had a poor season last year, posting a 6.40 ERA over 15 starts for the Mariners. He signed a minor-league deal with Atlanta with an invitation to spring training.

The 34-year-old was trying to battle for a spot in Atlanta’s rotation.

A six-time All-Star, Hernandez hasn’t had a sub-4.00 ERA since 2016. His career earnings are over $217 million.
