Whenever MLB does begin the season, Felix Hernandez hopes to take the mound for the Atlanta Braves. The 15-year veteran parted ways with the Mariners following a few subpar seasons in Seattle and signed a minor league deal with Atlanta back in January. Pre-pandemic, it looked as if Hernandez was going to make the Opening Day roster. Now, it's no guarantee. But a recent quote from King Felix regarding the goals for his career shows that he doesn't want to call it quits anytime soon. Felix wants to reach 200 wins and 3,000 strikeouts. "If I can get to that goal, I'm gonna hang my spikes. I'm done," said Hernandez. He currently sits at 169 wins with 2,524 Ks, so he's going to need to play for a few more seasons and at a pretty high level to get there. But if he does, he'll be in some rarefied air as far as pitchers go.
Which brings us to today's quiz of the day. In MLB history, 18 pitchers have reached 200 wins and 3,000 strikeouts over the course of their careers. Felix hopes to be No. 19. So with that in mind, how many of the 18 legends in that exclusive fraternity can you name in five minutes?
